New Zealand’s annual Mental Health Awareness Week takes place from 18-24 September. This year’s theme “Five Ways, Five Days” highlights how everybody can make simple day-to-day life adjustments to enjoy improved mental health. Because most of us spend the majority of our time at work, good mental health tends to hinge on the support we receive in the workplace. Rather than sporadically implementing mental health initiatives, business owners should aim for a holistic workplace well-being culture that offers everybody a safety net.
If all this sounds a little ambitious, here are 10 simple ways to promote workplace well-being throughout your organisation.
- Talk about mental health openly and honestly: You can destigmatise mental health by talking about it openly and honestly in the workplace.
