A Workplace Consultant’s Perspective

What a privilege it is to be able to meet many of the wonderful people behind the scenes of our small to medium businesses in New Zealand.

Small businesses are the backbone of New Zealand Business. In fact businesses with 20 employees or less make up approximately 97% of all businesses in New Zealand, and 40% of our total economy is generated from these small businesses.

As an Employsure Workplace Consultant I get to spend a lot of time with these businesses and in most instances I actually get to go to their business workplaces.

The people who own and manage these businesses are always welcoming, pleased to see me and willing to have a chat. It is a pleasure to get to know them and hear the many stories about their business. These people always impress me as genuine hard working Kiwis who have had the courage to step out on their own and make a go of it.

I am constantly impressed with the innovation, resilience and commitment that these people have for their business and their community.

It is very humbling to be able to participate in their business and provide them with the employment and health and safety support that they are seeking.

It is also very satisfying to see the relief that many of them display when they see that our services and products will take away the anxiety and worry from them for this important component of their business.

Great to know that the foundation of our New Zealand economy is underpinned by these amazing people who are at the core of our businesses.
